Noble Gases

The Noble Gas group is the 18th group of the periodic table, not including Helium because it is in S Block. All elements in this group have a full set of 8 valance electrons.


Neon is the 10th element of the periodic table. It is a gas. It is most common in advertising signs like the ones on the side of restaurants. It forms no known compounds.

Argon is the 18th element of the periodic table. It is a gas. It is used in light bulbs to keep the filament from reacting with oxygen.


Krypton is the 36th element of the periodic table of elements. It is a gas. It is used in photographic flashes in high speed cameras. Some light bulbs are filled with it and argon.


Xenon is the 54th element of the periodic table. It is a gass. It is used in strobe lights because it flashes a bright white light when electrically charged. Its light is also used to kill bacteria.


Radon is the 86th element of the periodic table of elements. It is a radioactive gas. The only practical use it to help cure some cancers.
